Mental Health Week Committee

This group is made up of individuals from multiple organizations including the IRHA and Selkirk Support Centre who get together annually to plan how to recognize mental health week within the Interlake Community.

Each year Mental Health Week is May 3rd-9th.

The theme of this year’s mental health week was, “Building Your Mental Health One Support at a Time”.

For the 2010 year In Selkirk, you may of noticed a variety of messages found on signs throughout the city. Some of the messages included: “Take A Break,” “Pay it Forward,” “Do a little Dance” among others. This sign campaign was organized by the MHWC in hopes to get people thinking about the well-being of their mental health.

This group has in the past organized bbq’s in Selkirk and surrounding communities, done green ribbon campaigns all together endeavoring to promote mental health in our community.

You may contact CMHA if you would like to learn more about mental health week, or you may ask to be connected with a different organization also having representatives sitting on this Mental Health Week Committee.
