Mental Health First Aid course available January 24th and 25th 2013

Registration is currently being accepted for the Mental Health First Aid course

Mental Health First Aid will be available in Selkirk to the public on January 24th and 25th of 2013. The course will be held at the Red River North Tourism Building located on 18 Main Street in Selkirk. The course is from 8:30-4:00 on both days. The course is taught by Katie Charrier the community Educator. To register for this course or for more information please call CMHA Interlake at 204-482-9723 ask to speak to Katie Charrier.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or already in a mental health crisis. Just as first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved.
