CMHA would like to thank all those who participated in the Housing and Supports Discussion Groups that took place on Monday, November 30th/2009. The information gathered from each group has been held as highly successful and provided exceptional insight into housing and supports services.
These discussion groups were approved by the Cross Department Co-ordination Initiative unit of the Province of Manitoba. Invited to attend were people with lived experience of mental illness and family members or other caregivers of mental health consumers. The overarching focus of the discussion groups was to look at housing and support services. Discussion groups explored issues relating to: mental health recovery and what it means to be in recovery, identification of needs and choices related to housing and support services and the review of housing options.
