Behind the Scenes

The Setting

7th Inning Stretch

On August 27th, 2010 this year’s annual summer BBQ featured a sports theme and had all those in attendance dressed up and representing their favorite sports team. From the cheers for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to the boo’s of the Edmonton Oilers, the afternoon was met with much laughter. Prizes were awarded to winners of best dressed costumes and to winners of the many trivia games created by the organizing committee of this event. Hot dogs were the entree and home made salads and desserts were extras.

The event was held at the Croatian Community Hall in St. Andrews and the weather was what you would expect at a ball game: Hot and Sticky. A dingle ball tournament took place on the grounds and found the CMHA staff defeat the defending champs. Karaoke again was a main attraction, and silent auction draws gave valued souvenirs for many to take home.

This BBQ can not occur without the support of the annual raffle that is held to help fundraise and support this event. Thank you to everyone who sold tickets for this draw and congratulations to the grand prize winner, better luck to everyone next year!
