CMHA Interlake Receives Generous Van Donation
Over the past three years CMHA Interlake has been looking to purchase a new van to replace the aging van that has been used by the organization the last decade. Finally, with a generous grant from the Auto Workers of Canada, this new van could be afforded. Heading into the Fall of 2010, a new Dodge Caravan was purchased from Selkirk Chrysler which met the requirements for service needs of clients in the Interlake.
Staff have utilized the CMHA van for a number of reasons. This van has often been used to help clients move furniture and other supplies into there new homes, whether they are moving from one rental to another, or moving into a private rental for the first time. It has been used to help transport replaced beds and furniture to the waste station in Selkirk. It has been used to pick up household furniture and supplies donated by individuals in the community and has helped get clients to appointments as well as transport clients from the Selkirk Food Bank.
A gracious thank you again to the Auto Workers of Canada whose generous donation helped make the purchase of a new van possible.
